Why Your Midlife ‘Crisis’ Might Actually Be Burnout

Jody Brooks on Phoenix and Flame

In this episode, Dana is joined by midlife and burnout coach Jody Brooks, who shares his story of hitting rock bottom. His “pile of ash” moment came in a restroom cubicle, crying so hard he could barely breathe, realizing burnout was a full-body shutdown. This crisis became his calling, leading him to drive home and completely re-evaluate his life. Jody reveals how he learned that feeling lost in midlife isn’t a crisis, but a calling to connect with your authentic self. He introduces his practical framework for authentic living, explaining why the first step to moving forward is to “start stopping” what no longer serves you.
